John is a managing partner in a Los Angeles insurance firm. He has been collecting Civil War artifacts for nearly a decade. His collecting interests are diverse, but originated with a photograph of George Haas, his great-great-grandfather, who served with the 2nd Kansas Cavalry. John is Vice President of his local Civil War Round Table and has been published in national Civil War periodicals. He is known for his capable research, which he employs as he studies the soldiers whose lives touch his collection. John's ability to unveil the personal history of a soldier, as well as his travels and experiences before and after the war are a great asset to the WCCWC.
